Présentation EVCT SARL

Explanatory memorandum

Access to electrical energy in the Democratic Republic of Congo is guaranteed by the country's constitution in its article 48.

However, since its accession to its independence and its international sovereignty, the DRC has had difficulty in making accessible, to its galloping population estimated today at more than 100 million inhabitants, the electrical energy which is one of the factors major and irreversible that condition the economic, social, technological and cultural development of all nations, all peoples, all communities or any individual in isolation.

In view of the low rate of access of the Congolese population to electrical energy, estimated at more or less 19% in general with urban areas concentrating 50% of this electrification against 1% in rural areas; Énergies Vertes du Congo Trading Sarl – EVCT Sarl in acronym, is created and established in the Democratic Republic of Congo with the aim of contributing to the development of the electrical energy sector and its derivatives, in accordance with the constitution of the country in its Article 48 and Law No. 14/011 of June 17, 2014 relating to the electricity sector and devoting the liberalization of the sector long held by the monopoly of the National Electricity Company – SNEL SA, a State company.

From the design to the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures and modern electricity networks including hydroelectric power stations, high-medium & low voltage lines, as well as other related infrastructures, including feasibility studies, the supply of equipment and the provision of services in the electricity sector; Énergies Vertes du Congo Trading Sarl is positioned as a major and pivotal player in the development and search for relevant & permanent solutions to the multiple problems that are generated in the electricity sector in the DRC.

context

The Democratic Republic of Congo produces around 3 Gigawatts of electricity spread over about fifty dams across the country. More than 90% of this capacity is provided by the National Electricity Company - SNEL SA through 3 transmission and distribution networks which are: the West network, the East network and the South network which is the most important because it serves the mining area comprising the Provinces of Lualaba and Haut-Katanga.

However, only almost half of the power mentioned above is usable due to multiple acts of vandalism of the cables and the cable transport pylons, the obsolescence & lack of maintenance of the equipment as well as the weak workforce. 'qualified work.

To solve the problems highlighted by the in-depth and uncompromising diagnosis of the electricity sector and to contribute to making the DRC an energy power in Africa and in the world; EVCT Sarl is committed to finding ways through strong partnerships to increase energy production by building new power plants & importing energy from other producers - improving, designing and construction of efficient electrical energy transport networks, guaranteeing the opening up of the regions for the well-being of the populations and the economic competitiveness of the DRC.
